Transition Year Short Film Competition Guidelines

 

Eligibility

  • Open to current Transition Year students enrolled in secondary schools in Limerick, Clare, Kerry, and North Tipperary only.
  • Entries may be submitted individually or as a group (maximum 5 students per group).
  • Each team must have a supervising teacher from their school.

 

Entry Format and Requirements

  • The short film must not exceed 7 minutes in length.
  • The film must reflect the theme:

 

“Connecting Our Future”

The theme must include a selection of the following aspects in the context of Shannon Foynes Port and the Shannon Estuary region.

  • The significance of Shannon Estuary.
  • The opportunity presented by Shannon Foynes Port to the Mid-West Region.
  • The critical importance of connectivity - by sea, road, and air - in driving regional growth and economical development.

 

Competition Timelines

  • All key dates and deadlines will be published on the competition website.
  • These timelines must be strictly adhered to.

 

Judging & Awards

  • An independent judging panel will be appointed by Shannon Foynes Port Company.
  • The panel’s decisions will be final.

 

Additional Information

Registered entries will receive an information booklet to assist in film preparation.

Port visits for registered team members can be facilitated on request.
